Reviewing Transactions
How to review, filter, and manage your imported transactions in Find Your Deductions.
Overview
The Transactions page shows all imported transactions from your connected accounts and uploaded files. Here you can review transactions, see which ones were identified as potential deductions, and manually categorize items.
Accessing Transactions
Navigate to Transactions in your dashboard sidebar to view all imported transactions.
Filtering Transactions
Use the filter controls to narrow down your view:
- Date Range – Filter by specific time periods
- Account – Show transactions from a specific bank account
- Amount – Filter by transaction amount range
- Status – Show all, deductions only, or uncategorized
Transaction Details
Each transaction shows:
- Date – When the transaction occurred
- Description – Merchant or transaction description
- Amount – Transaction amount
- Account – Source account
- Deduction Status – Whether it was identified as a potential deduction
Manual Categorization
If a transaction wasn't automatically identified as a deduction, you can manually mark it:
- Click on the transaction to open details
- Click Mark as Deduction
- Select the appropriate category
- Add any notes for your records
- Save the changes
Bulk Actions
For efficiency, you can select multiple transactions and:
- Mark as deductions in bulk
- Dismiss multiple items
- Export selected transactions
Searching Transactions
Use the search bar to find specific transactions by:
- Merchant name
- Description keywords
- Amount
Tips for Review
- Focus on High-Value Items – Start with larger transactions that could have the biggest tax impact
- Check Recurring Payments – Subscriptions and regular payments to charities or business services are often deductible
- Review "Other" Category – Items categorized as "other" may need manual categorization
